 The Music therapy 


 The International Association of Music Therapy defines our profession as follows:

Music therapy is the use of music and / or its elements  by a qualified Music Therapist with a patient or group, in a process designed to facilitate and promote communication, learning, mobilization, expression, Organization or other relevant therapeutic objectives, in order to attend to the physical, psychological, social and cognitive needs.

Music therapy seeks to discover potential and / or restore functions of the individual so that he / she reaches a better intra and / or interpersonal organization and, consequently, a better quality of life. Through prevention and rehabilitation in a treatment. "

We can start by defining Music Therapy as: No-verbal therapy, which uses the musical sound base as a means of a key element in its approach, tending to open channels of communication, achieving through them a growth process, which Favors social adaptation and optimizes the quality of life.

The music therapist not only uses music to listen and enjoy it, but uses its components , the body, silence and various techniques and resources to approach people or groups, according to their Needs.
